International Women’s Day

Today marks International Women’s Day. RACMA is proud of our female leaders and the important role they play in the field of medical management to ensure the highest standards of healthcare across Australasia.

Women make up a large portion of the healthcare workforce across Australasia and 33% of our College members are women. Today we celebrate all our female members and the contribution they have made to medical management and leadership since the College was founded, including past Presidents Jennifer Alexander, Sherene Devanesen, Lee Gruner and our current Vice President Iwona Stolarek.

RACMA has an impressive breadth of senior female leaders and decision makers among our membership base, many of whom are carrying out key influential roles across the Australasian healthcare system, such as Chief Health Officers, Chief Medical Officers, Directors of Medical Service and Executive Directors. And as a College we have a strong female representation across our various committees and within our national office.

The global theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is Balance for Better – better the balance, better the world. While the Australian theme, co-ordinated through UN Women National Committee Australia, is More Powerful Together. It recognises the important role we all play – as women, men, non-binary and gender diverse people.
